In a series of interviews of local Eastern Shore residents during the years of 1970 to 1973, former Salisbury University students and professors collected folk legends. For this collection, these interviews focus on various stories of Joshua Thomas also known as "Parsons on the Island", a Eastern Shore local known for his unique abilities for always being right. The collection also includes a description of Thomas's epitaph. Most interviews include personal descriptions of the interviewer and informant, and the story.
